Cape Breton Centre For Craft & Design

Catherine Moir is an experienced landscape artist part of the art community in Cape Breton and the Cape Breton Center for Craft & Design. Born in Halifax, Catherine attended Nova Scotia College of Art and Design where she learned drawing and painting.

She also studied figure drawing at St. Mary’s University and the University of Alberta. Catherine moved from Halifax in 1984 to live in Cape Breton permanently, painting the landscape, buildings and figures.

Catherine works en plein air and then in her own studio outside her home on the Morley Rd. in Eastern Cape Breton.

For the past eight years, Catherine has been the coordinator for the Art of Living program which has an exhibition every summer at the Centre with established artists and cancer patients.

 

Workshops

The Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design offer a variety of workshops throughout the year.

Their workshops provide scope for collective creativity, individual expression, technical mastery, and innovation. From introductory day sessions to more intense advanced multi-day workshops, we endeavour to accommodate all skill and interest levels.
